I recently tried to cook macaroons and thought you would like some feedback. Feel free to use my pics if you want.
My first try was horrible. I didn't have a sieve, I used just one normal tray (no silicon mat), regular baking paper (white thin one) and my boyfriend was interfering adding more sugar and almonds to the mixture. The macaroons were stuck to the paper and we were scraping them out of the paper with a knife! It was hilarious. This is the result:
I called them apocalypse macaroons.
Then I went to Lakeland website and bought everything that I needed kitchenware-wise. Then, alone this time, I did everything exactly as you said, using this time the new recipe emailed. For my surprise, this was the result:
I was very excited and proud of my cooking! :D
In total I got 44 halves, of which 31 were perfect, with just 13 going to the macaroon outlet for half price hee hee!
I'm thinking about trying the pistachio tonight, and my next experiments are vanilla and rose.
Now I can say my specialities are scrambled eggs, cereal with milk and macaroons!
